Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital

Covering the Capital: Grateful Hearts at Thanksgiving

Nov 25, 2025

Thanksgiving is one of our favorite holidays. Before the hustle and bustle really ramps up, many Americans enjoy gathering around a festive table with family and friends. It's even become popular to make it a double holiday with a “Friendsgiving” dinner as well. Here at our Ministry Center, we enjoy something akin to Friendsgiving every week (although less decadent)!

As you know, without you, Faith & Liberty cannot celebrate the gospel on Capitol Hill, advance religious freedom, engage with members of Congress, or encourage staffers and interns without your faithful prayers and gifts! Please prayerfully consider giving to Faith & Liberty for the first time or supporting our ministry with a monthly recurring gift to help us fulfill our unique and vital mission.

When we think of people we are thankful for, you are most definitely included! You support the vital mission and ministry of Faith & Liberty on Capitol Hill and beyond. You allow us be present to minister young interns, congressional staffers, members of Congress, and all who make our nation’s capital hum.

Beyond thankful hearts at Thanksgiving, we are grateful for the volunteers helping during our Live Nativity on Thursday, Dec. 4. If you wish to attend and need more information or still want to be a part of this special gospel presentation, please reach out to Patty Bills at 202-737-1776 or [email protected] for details. Thank you most of all for your prayers as the gospel goes forth in our Live Nativity 2025!

Wishing you and yours a beautiful Thanksgiving!

MINISTRY RECAP
  • Peggy Nienaber attended an Israel update briefing last Tuesday. This was a meeting with prominent members of Congress gathering to hear from three leading voices from Israel, including Israeli Mayor, Haim Bibas.

  • Two days from now, we will celebrate Thanksgiving! Since several of the congressional interns and staffers are staying here instead of heading home, Faith & Liberty has found families with whom they can enjoy a Thanksgiving meal.

  • Peggy Nienaber and Patty Bills participated in an America 250 Coalition call and briefing. Events and programs are underway for the many participants involved in this meeting. They include bus tours across the U.S., roundtables, college speakers, presentations, and even giving a Presidential Award.

  • Peggy participated in the America Prays conference call. We prayed for our country and all the upcoming events celebrating our nation’s 250th anniversary.

COMING SOON
  • One week after Thanksgiving, Thursday, Dec. 4, our Live Nativity will be prime viewing in the nation’s capital. Patty Bills has secured all the necessary permits for this presentation of the gospel on Capitol Hill, and final preparations are underway!

  • Faith & Liberty will soon start a weekly intercessory prayer gathering with Pastor Blossom Brackman of Eagles of Fire at our Ministry Center.

  • Peggy will continue to take part in the America250 planning conference calls with the White House. Stay tuned for more information to come regarding “All Things America 2026 — America Celebrates 250 Years.”

  • The Faith & Liberty team has been working on the Preborn Memorial to be held at the U.S. Supreme Court on January 22, 2026.

  • The staff of Faith & Liberty will gather with members of Congress for Carols in the Capitol to celebrate the birth of Christ.

  • Peggy will attend the “Somebody’s Praying” pastors luncheon honoring those on Capitol Hill who pray and minister to members of Congress and their staff.

  • Most of our Bible study groups are taking a break for Thanksgiving. Bible studies will resume next week. We are also looking to add another weekday evening Bible study!
