Press Release: Faith & Liberty Helps Honor Christian Women in DC

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Faith & Liberty played a crucial role in co-hosting recent events for the She Leads America organization October 8 – October 11, 2025 on Capitol Hill. Faith & Liberty Vice President Peggy Nienaber is D.C. Director of She Leads America, an organization that honors Christian women throughout the nation and the world who exemplify courage, leadership, and conviction as they serve in their area of influence. 

Faith & Liberty co-hosted several events including the Women on the Hill Breakfast at the Capitol Hill Club, and a progressive breakfast at the Faith & Liberty Ministry Center. Nienaber oversaw a panel of young women leaders at the Windsor Connection Lunch at the Capitol Hill Club. The theme of the panel was “In His Image: Defending the Dignity of Women.

During the 5thAnnual She Leads America Gala at the Museum of the Bible, Patty Bills, Faith & Liberty’s Director of Strategic Partnerships, received a 2025 Distinguished Service Award. Bills’ award was entered into the Congressional Record for her dedication and service for helping to share the gospel on Capitol Hill.

Nienaber was previously honored by the She Leads America organization with a 2021 Christian Woman of Distinction award. This year, Nienaber nominated Kayleigh Bush, the Miss North Florida 2025 pageant winner who received the 2025 Young Christian Woman of Distinction award. Bush was stripped of her title after refusing to sign a Miss America contract that falsely defines “female” to include castrated males. During the gala, Bush was crowned as “Miss She Leads America” and her award was also entered into the Congressional Record for her courage to stand for her convictions.

Nienaber said, “It is important to recognize these Christian women who are strong in their faith and their values. They are working hard with integrity and grace in our society where they face so many challenges. I am honored to be a part of the She Leads America movement and help bring light to their accomplishments.”
