Can you imagine what it would be like for Christians to gather from all 50 states and experience the bread and cup of communion on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.? What a glorious experience that would be!

Last fall, we were a part of another massive event, An Esther Call to the Mall, that gathered over a quarter-million believers to repent, fast, and pray for our nation and future generations, and to remember our Savior’s sacrifice as we took communion together on the National Mall. Now it seems the Lord is doing something new that includes an even greater focus on the power of the cross. The Holy Spirit birthed in the hearts of several people a vision for believers from all 50 states taking communion together on the National Mall. That vision became “Communion America,” to be held October 9-12 this year, and Faith & Liberty is thankful to join in this significant move of God in the heart of our nation’s capital.

Peggy Nienaber met with Awaken the Dawn founder David Bradshaw to discuss “The Great Communion Table” at Communion America.

There will be 50 tents of continuous worship — one tent for each state — and one table. Every night, thousands will gather for worship, prayer, gospel proclamation, and commissioning. On Saturday, October 11, a communion table will cover the length of the entire National Mall. It will be a festival around the presence of God. We expect a great communion revival at the over-mile-long communion table.

“And when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, ‘This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me.’ In the same way He also took the cup after supper, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.’ For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes” (1 Cor. 11: 24-26).

As we look forward to our annual prayer retreat next month, we invite you to let us agree with you in prayer by name for your needs and concerns. For us, this is a quiet time to get away but not for a busy vacation; rather, this retreat is dedicated to a time to seek God for His continued direction for our ministry, to intercede wholeheartedly for our supporters, and to beseech God for revival for our nation and our leaders.
