Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital
Apr 21, 2025
On this Easter Monday, we don’t want to let the celebration of our Lord’s resurrection go by too quickly. As believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, we celebrate the fact that He is risen every day!
Please enjoy these reflections, quotes, and verses as we continue to celebrate this beautiful season:
“Easter was when Hope in person surprised the whole world by coming forward from the future into the present.” — N. T. Wright, Surprised by Hope
"The story of Easter is the story of God's wonderful window of divine surprise." — Carl Knudsen
"It's not about the bunny; it's about the lamb." — Source unknown
"But from this earth, this grave, this dust, my God shall raise me up, I trust." — Walter Raleigh
“This week, whatever you may be facing, remember that in three short days, the disciples and family of Christ went from hopelessness to hopeful — from devastation to celebration, from defeat to victory! Because of the cross and the tomb, you have a hope in Christ!” — Sheri Easter
“What is the difference between a dead Christ, whom the women went to anoint, and a living Christ? A dead Christ I must do everything for; a living Christ does everything for me.” — Andrew Murray
“The stone at the tomb of Jesus was a pebble to the Rock of Ages inside.” — Fred Beck
"The resurrection gives my life meaning and direction and the opportunity to start over no matter what my circumstances." — Robert Flatt
"Our Lord has written the promise of resurrection, not in the books alone, but in every leaf in springtime." — Martin Luther
"Our old history ends with the cross; our new history begins with our resurrection." — Watchman Nee
"Christ the Lord is risen today, sons of men and angels say. Raise your joys and triumphs high; sing, ye heavens and earth reply." — Charles Wesley
And we leave you with the most important quote of all, from our Lord Himself: "I am the resurrection and the life" (John 11:25)!
Praise our Risen Savior!
