Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital

The Faith & Liberty Monday Report

Jun 6, 2022

Faith and liberty. These key words are part of our ministry’s name, and preserving faith and liberty as a way of life is what drives us.

Our presence in Washington, D.C., at this critical hour only heightens our awareness of the need to uphold these foundational principles. This we do in the halls of Congress, at the Supreme Court and around Capitol Hill.

In this day and time, we are observing the decline of the values that helped America rise as a nation. And today, June 6, we mark the 78th anniversary of D-Day, the infamous day the Allied Forces set out to overcome Hitler’s Nazi forces during World War II. We must remember what they fought and died for, as the operation left more than 10,000 injured and over 4,000 dead. We must honor their sacrifice for American freedom over tyranny. How different America would look without this liberty we prize!

Ultimately, though, we value the kind of liberty only the gospel of Jesus Christ can give. We are thankful for His sacrifice for our salvation above all.

For America's Future,

Peggy Nienaber, Vice President

COMING SOON
  • Faith & Liberty will host the She Leads America Women's Prayer Luncheon for congressional women next Tuesday, June 14. We believe the Lord wants the Faith & Liberty team to plan and host a quarterly prayer time to support these “Women on the Hill.”
  • The International Religious Freedom Summit will be held at the Renaissance Hotel, 999 9th Street NW, Washington, D.C., at the end of this month. Religious persecution around the world should compel us to recognize the threats and engage to protect our religious freedom here at home. Liberty Counsel is planning an hour-long breakout session, “Religious Freedom at your Own Doorstep,” on Thursday, June 30, at 1:30 p.m. in Meeting Room 12. The first 50 attendees will receive a free gift bag. To attend the IRF Summit, click here and sign up.
  • Prayer Retreat: Our Faith & Liberty team takes an annual private prayer retreat, which will be August 2nd-4th this year, during which we intercede for every one of our supporters—by name. As we seek the Lord—for our ministry, our team, our nation’s leaders and our supporters—we look to Him to guide and strengthen us for this strategic work in our nation’s capital. We want to remember your concerns before the Lord especially during this time. Please submit your prayer requests by calling Patty Bills at the Faith & Liberty office at 202-737-1776 or by emailing us at [email protected].

Our prophetic missionary work in Washington, D.C., continues during this critical time in history. CLICK HERE TO SUBMIT YOUR PRAYER REQUEST.

We must all stay tuned in to what is happening in our nation’s capital. To stay informed on issues in Washington and play your part as a citizen and a Christian, look for Faith & Liberty's ACTION emails throughout the week. We are in this fight together for the soul of our nation.

Fences on Capitol Hill

PRAYER CONCERNS

Today was another opinion day at the Supreme Court, which has not yet released the final ruling on the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case. But we know it won’t be long before we find out if the Court will finally overturn Roe v. Wade. Pray for the protection of the Justices and that the official opinion will come down on the side of life.

We are thankful for God's protection during this turbulent time ahead of the release of the Dobbs decision. The area in front of the Supreme Court has fencing three layers deep, and some streets and sidewalks are blocked, limiting pedestrian and vehicle traffic. We are taking safety measures but continue to pray for the safety of our staff and protection of our property.

Pray for this month's International Religious Freedom Summit, that the event will truly help the persecuted and glorify God. Pray for the preparation of the speakers—Senior Counsel for Governmental Affairs Jonathan Alexandre, Liberty Counsel; Camp Constitution co-founder Hal Shurtleff; and Faith & Liberty staff—for Liberty Counsel’s breakout session.

Pray for wisdom as we plan for the fiscal year. Our staff will meet in mid-June.

Our efforts to bring the Word of God to bear on the hearts and minds of our public policy makers are only possible because wonderful friends like you stand with us both in prayer and in your generous financial support! Thank you!

Make a difference and partner with us.
